The Costa Calida is possibly the least known Costa in the south east region of Spain with fewer foreigners living here than other areas, the local Spanish people are truly friendly and the living atmosphere is really quite different and much less stressful, there is a 3 hour siesta between 2pm and 5pm, then everything comes to life and continues commercially until 9pm.

The large town of Lorca is steaped in history with it's mountains to the west, and the “Playas” with the town of Aguilas (approx 25km) to the East. Lorca is the size of a small city with all the amenities you would expect, train station (with a superb service), hospital, large supermarkets etc. Aguilas is picturesque with beautiful beaches, a wide promenade, typical town square, harbour and markets. As with all good coastal resorts, there are plenty of bars and excellent restaurants open late into the evenings. Mojacar with it’s magnificent Pueblo is approximately 60 minutes drive away and Vera which hosts a superb Aquapark is about 40 minutes away. Alicante (1½ hours) or San Javier (1 hour) are the nearest airports.
